Booked an hour spot for the 50 yard range. Drove an hour and 20 minutes to get to the range and the 50 yard section was packed full. They seem to over book and not offer refunds. Other than that, it's a decent range.

I will give credit where this is due and chalk this up partially to inexperience. But you can take this for what it is worth. I recently acquired my PAL with my Fiancees father and we were both excited to go to the range with our new toys , once we arrived we had no idea where to go. We eventually made our way into the club house where we paid. We told we needed to buy targets , which was unexpected. Perhaps this was our fault and we should have known this, ill once again contribute that part to inexperience. We were directed to get back in our car and drive farther down the road to the range. Where it became apparent you needed eye protection. Knowing this was our first time I had hoped the guy at the desk would have warned us. Back to the desk and more money later , still eager to shoot we made it to the range. We had booked 1 hour at 50 yards. Our time came. At no point did anyone show us to a bay, explain any procedure or even look at us. So we took it upon ourselves to slot ourselves in where possible. No one checked our gear or license, both something I expected. No one checked on the shooters or looked in our direction the entire hour we were there. We hung our own targets and continued with this free for all that was transpiring. Just seems all way to relaxed for what is potentially very dangerous if not treated seriously. Our hour came to and end, and if not for being responsible and leaving no one would have known we were supposed to leave. In my opinion. There is nothing preventing someone with no PAL , walking directly to the range and shooting a firearm for several hours with no one noticing he may not have paid. Oh well.

Fun place and I loved it. The problem when it is a sunny day, you are dead since no shade area available except in limited places like pistol shooting . I recommend you visit and enjoy the day .

As a non-member gun owner, I had a lot of fun here. Came here on both weekend days, registration was smooth. The 50 yard ranges usually get filled up pretty fast, usually within the first hour or two of opening. Other shooters are really friendly, I forgot to bring my staple the first day and they were kind enough to lend me theirs. I typically visit Ottawa a few times a year so I'll probably come back.

I love Stittsville Shooting Range! I love the skeet and trap ranges, the range staff are really cool and always happy to give you helpful tips to improve your shooting (Veronica was hilarious and helpful all at the same time), and Jess (inside at the desk) could not be nicer! This is definitely my #1 spot. You'll always meet a friendly face while you're there, too =)

Close to where I live.
$30 for walk-in day pass.
Service fast & friendly.
The range is large, place to shoot your pistols, rifles and shotguns. 50-300 distance shooting.
I will be back!
