Bait,tackle and hunting lovers!!! Amazing shop and even a more amazing owner! With wholesale, repairs and a large selection this is an all in one one stop shop for any anglers needs. The owner who's a 20+ year veteran (Big hank you for serving!) Was kind enough to educate me on all sorts of information as to great spots, latest information on tournaments, regulations,services and interesting facts and history of this beautiful area! Alot can be found on the website www.backwoodsguns.ca Definitely an amazing place to go for many different reasons and I'm very appreciative of his time as well as the information,products and services hes chosen to provide. I definitely recommend checking this awesome spot out and contributing to an awesome person!

brought my rifle with one broken screw in receiver for scope rail , other three screws where fine . I specifically ask for the screw to be removed NOT DRILLED and how long is going to take . Owner told me, there is one rifle I just finishing then is yours .
After three months I picked up my rifle because after so many excuses I didn't want to wait anymore . owner was angry screaming and yelling at me .( I call you when is done !!! you don't have to coming in every week and asking !!! you interrupting me from work !!! no wonder your rifle is not done !!! Owner was still angry screaming and yelling ) Right after this theatrical unprofessional behaviour he just disappear somewhere back. I just got my rifle was asked by his employee to pay 20 bucks , so I did and left .To my surprise after inspection when I got home he drilled two front screw holes with no thread , and those holes he drilled don't even line up , what a mess . its my rifle and he the owner didn't ask me for permission to drill when specifically ask NOT TO !!!
I guess to late for me , already left his shop
I did google his business before bringing my rifle and I did see all the negative comments about gunsmithing , and now I know why . Didn't think that removing screw would be that difficult for this gunsmith , and it is
If you reading all the reviews and deciding to use gusmithing services with this business , just don't be me .

This place rips off its suppliers. Hasn't paid bill in over 2 years. Still in business just trying to make a buck off of other businesses by burning them. Pay your bill and I will remove this.
I actually see someone else posted about this as well. Not ok to rip off small businesses. Response. Have so many unpaid vendors you don't remember who? You know who you owe. It's not slander if it's true. Pay your bill.

Brought my rifle in to have the barrel shortened and open sights removed and scope and mounts installed. Ensured accuracy due to an expensive laser bore sight machine. Took almost a year due to owners health issues which is not the issue. The issue is a barrel that is not cut squarely, scope mount poorly done with almost no threads for mounting screws, and a back shim under mount that was “glued”, and the back of the scope shimmed with several skinny pieces of brass. Took it to the range and scope was so far out of wack that it wasn’t even on target at 50 or 100 yards. Ended up redoing the whole job myself. Total “backwoods” backyard quality job. Would never recommend to anyone!!

Took a revolver in for servicing and left a $175. deposit. Four months later still waiting for work to be completed so went to pick up the firearm and they refused to return deposit, they returned gun damaged and parts were missing. They claimed they "worked on it" but there was no work done on the revolver to address the repair I had asked for and as I said parts were missing and back of cylinder opening was scored. Two months after picking up firearm still have not been able to get the $175 deposit returned and now I have to try and get the parts that are missing... which is almost impossible in Canada.

It's a great place alot of variety and reasonable prices this is a great place. I found his gunsmith rates are pretty fair considering that legal and knowledgeable gunsmiths a rare sight. Im rather disappointed after reading some of the other reviews people lashing out because they didn't get what they wanted. Gunsmithing are an important trade and not anyone can work on a firearm they are dangerous if not treated with respect this gunsmith has respect for firearms and the law. Anyone who owns or works with firearms has to share that same respect.

Very nice store with a little bit of everything from hunting and fishing to camping to bait. Prices are very reasonable. Owner was nice to talk to and being a new local he was was good to share fishing spots. Bait (minnows) are reasonably priced and stayed nice a lively. Will be going back. Thanks Darren!!

Went in today for a look-around. Bought some ammo, prices were fair, had what I needed. Neat shop with a variety of odds n ends, good service and prices. Will be going back in future.
