Ben Avery has 11 ranges total, Firearms and archery. Also one of the only places in the western US you can shoot from horseback (Firearms and archery). I frequent the 100 and 200 yard rifle range. Ben Avery is closed Mondays and you can make reservations for Saturday and Sunday a day in advance. Midweek is first come first serve, and they don't take reservations. They have nice shooting stalls that are covered and shaded, with built in concrete shooting tables and 2 stools per table. The range uses wooden frames with cardboard (provided) that you can tape your own paper targets onto (not provided but they do sell targets at the store on site, they have masking tape provided to tape up targets). Shot guns are allowed with bird shot and they have special rebar frames so the wood won't get destroyed. 50bmg is NOT allowed. Pistols are allowed and there are frame holders at the following distances ; 5yds 10yds 15 yds 25yds 50yds 100yds 200yds. There are always multiple range safety officers on site and they clear everyone's weapon so that shooters can go down range and reset targets etc. They normally shoot for 15 minutes then take some time to clear and reset then another 15 minutes of live fire. They can be bossy but it's all in the name of safety and if you follow the few basic rules you won't have an issue. This is a good place to bring new shooters and introduce the to the sport. Kids are welcome and closed toes shoes are reccomended but not required. You must have ear and eye pro to be in the range area, they have both for sale in the store if you happen to forget anything. Benchrests/sleds for rifles are available for rental as well. Nice clean indoor bathrooms also on site and ample parking with handicapped spaces. This range is wheelchair friendly to the shooting benches but the range side where the targets go is dirt. They still operate in the rain as well which is actually a good experience. This place is open all year just check the website for operating hours as they change seasonally. Reservations reccomended for Saturday or Sunday. You can pay online and walk directly to the range desk which saves time, arrive 15 minutes before your reservation to be ahead of the curve.

The staff is fantastic. They are the kindness, most helpful people I've ever met. I'm brand new the range and shooting and I felt very much included and supported. They answer my 100s of questions so patiently. I've been to the range multiple times since and its the same attitude no matter what day I go or who is working. Great bunch of people!

We love going to this range! It's we'll organized, and kept very clean. Everyone who comes to visit from out of state wants to go to Ben Avery. The range masters are attentive and keep the place safe, and when people make a mistake, they kindly remind them of the rules. We enjoy the steel plinking ranges, trap shooting, and the paper range for zeroing our scopes/sights.

Been here plenty of times as a kid but today was my first time going alone. Knowledgeable and friendly staff all around. My AR kept jamming as it’s a brand new rifle, and the staff and other shooters were quick to assist me and gave solid advice. Would like to thank Nathan and all the rest of the staff for sharing some information and possible solutions. They even gave me a free pair of eye protection glasses when I lost mine. Will definitely be a regular at this location

Awesome place to shoot. Staffed by a safety-minded staff. You get to shoot for 15 minutes and then check targets until you are done.

GREATEST place on earth to shoot. And there’s so much more than the normal 100-200 yard range most go too. I mean they have 1000 yards and a bunch in between. Classes for all kinds of fun stuff. Honestly. It’s a great place to live

This is a very nice public shooting range with excellent facilities.
I shot IPSC competition here with Cactus Combat Match League for many Years.
The clay pigeon range is excellent also. They have skeet, trap, 5 stand, and sporting clays available. They sell ammo and will rent shotguns if needed.
I have also used the public range a few times with friends and it is an excellent facility ran by well trained rangemasters.
I don't use the public range very often as I am a member at a private range closer to my home.
