When I started fishing a few months ago, I went to G-Bay Tackle. They gave me some valuable advice, the customer service was second to none - They even helped get my line set up! Explained advantages and disadvantages of mono and braided lines and what should be used depending on where I’m fishing and what I’m fishing for.
Fishing is something I’ll never get tired of and I know G-bay Tackle always has everything I need 🎣👍

Had an excellent experience today with Rob at Gbay. The product I was looking for had been put away in storage for the winter. He looked numerous times, while servicing other customers, answering phone calls and was still able to find what I was looking for.

Being the only employee in the store, several times rob had to leave and help other customers. Patience goes along way and these people do their best to help you succeed on the water.

Nothing but GREAT things to say about G-Bay! Staff are very friendly & knowledgable -- I know absolutely nothing about fishing -- but, after speaking to one of their employees, Robert, I can confidently say that I am excited to get out on the boat this weekend with my buddies & not feel inadequate.

My wife and I were in Midland, Ontario yesterday, and ran across GBay Bait and Tackle. Wow!! The inventory was incredible. If you are fishing Georgian bay, they have everything you need, from soft plastic to hard and every color. Also, it was our first time to fish Georgian Bay, and Robert's expertise helped us get on some dandy smallmouth!!!

I hate giving low star reviews and I’m all about supporting small businesses but I’m very conflicted if I’ll ever go back to this establishment. Most of the reviews say that the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. Maybe the gentleman that was working, was having a bad Friday or doesn’t like kids(as I had my kids with me). But his attitude was quite rude and was not very helpful. Any questions we asked had a rude reply (my mom was with me and she couldn’t believe the experience we had). My boys were in awe of all the fishing gear, but with seeing the attitude of the gentleman, I was constantly reminding them to not touch anything as I didn’t already want to anger the gentleman working. It was a stressful experience and one that I don’t think any person should endure. It was our first time checking out gbay tackle and quite possibly could be our last.

Visited GBay for the first time a few weeks ago looking for minnows for my young son. When deciding on what size minnows we wanted I had said to the man working there that we’d purchased minnows once before from a different bait shop and they were small I even held up my fingers to show him the size we’d previously purchased. He suggested we buy two dozen large minnows, however when he brought them out they were quite a lot bigger than we expected and my son stated that he wanted smaller ones. The man was instantly irritated, rolling his eyes, big sighs of sheer exasperation, extremely unprofessional. I did call him out on his eye rolling before he begrudgingly switched the minnows out for smaller ones. As the mom of a young angler I spend a whole lot of money every summer on tackle and gear. If this is the customer service offered by GBay, I won’t be spending anything there again.
Side note, we visited Tromblys in Orillia since then, bought minnows, a minnow bucket, an aerator, line, leaders and a few lures. Great customer service and not one eye roll!
