Oldstoberfest is truly a unique experience. The town of Olds has merged Bavarian culture rodeo culture so well. Visitors are treated with the tapping of the keg, rodeo events, local beer brewed by the college, a concert followed by a dance. You are sure to have a great time!

I was quite frustrated on the second night, I had purchased the weekend pass. When I tried to get into the rodeo I was informed that it was full to capacity and that I would have to wait for people to leave before I could enter. What is the point of paying that much money ahead of time, when youre just going to let anyone in. I will never purchase weekend passes
again. Very poorly organized

My friends and I had a great time. There was a wide variety of German craft biers with full body and great flavour. If I could make some recommendations though, it is a rodeo but since it is modeled after Oktoberfest I believe that making the German theme a bit more apparent, or encourage it more, would make the "feel" more like a bier fest and less like a country-western dance. The feel overall came off more like a mini-Stampede than Oktoberfest. That being said, I would definitely attend again, but I would like to see them move more towards a true Oktoberfest theme; German foods[pork hawk, pork belly w/ sauerkraut, giant pretzels w/ beer cheese], less country music, staff/volunteers in actual lederhosen instead of t-shirts, and more decorations/events [fake wood tablecloths, "Best Lederhosen" Competition, etc.].

Pretty expensive - $45 even though I entered after the rodeo and first performance. Couldn't get information from any staff about what I'd just paid $45 for and why I was being sent out and down the road. Seemed I could have paid less if I went straight to the cow palace, but didn't see any information about that prior to the event on the website. The bar was messy. Whole event needs more organisation and better information distribution.

Overall great experience for my first time rodeo, concert at end was awesome Andrew Hyatt, ate at 2/24 food truck worse mistake ever over price for food I had chicken fingers and fries that was half cook and corn dog I wouldn’t feed my dog, probably ok for the drunken folk lol .
