I will give credit where this is due and chalk this up partially to inexperience. But you can take this for what it is worth. I recently acquired my PAL with my Fiancees father and we were both excited to go to the range with our new toys , once we arrived we had no idea where to go. We eventually made our way into the club house where we paid. We told we needed to buy targets , which was unexpected. Perhaps this was our fault and we should have known this, ill once again contribute that part to inexperience. We were directed to get back in our car and drive farther down the road to the range. Where it became apparent you needed eye protection. Knowing this was our first time I had hoped the guy at the desk would have warned us. Back to the desk and more money later , still eager to shoot we made it to the range. We had booked 1 hour at 50 yards. Our time came. At no point did anyone show us to a bay, explain any procedure or even look at us. So we took it upon ourselves to slot ourselves in where possible. No one checked our gear or license, both something I expected. No one checked on the shooters or looked in our direction the entire hour we were there. We hung our own targets and continued with this free for all that was transpiring. Just seems all way to relaxed for what is potentially very dangerous if not treated seriously. Our hour came to and end, and if not for being responsible and leaving no one would have known we were supposed to leave. In my opinion. There is nothing preventing someone with no PAL , walking directly to the range and shooting a firearm for several hours with no one noticing he may not have paid. Oh well.
