Back in the late 70's and early 80's, I worked at the range as a kid patching targets and running errands for the members. I wa under the tutoring of Mr. Wayne Tonelli, the clubs President at the time. What an adventure it was. During competition and events I would get the help of my brothers, Jordy and Joel, along with a close friend Andrew Jokinen. Wayne's son Jason was always there to lend a hand as well.
I remember the chili that was served in the clubhouse, usually made by a couple local police officers...the name Ted rings a bell, but I really can't remember. Wayne taught me how to shoot guns of all types...he had an impressive collection, and I sometimes helped him reload cartridges in his work shop. I loved the "Rolling Thunder" the most of all, and plinkin bowling pins with a 45 or a pump action shotgun was extremely exciting.
I miss those days, and the people...the people of Northern Ontario...my home.
